For much of my early life as an artist, I focused on drawing portraits. I’m less interested in this now, but recently joined an online portrait drawing community. I had never done such quick sketches like the 3-5 minute ones I did here, so it was a fun challenge. I inked it after the meeting and am pretty pleased with how it turned out for not having drawn a portrait in 20-some years.

Often, I need to remind myself that life is supposed to be fun and doesn’t always need to be hard. A great sketch can come out of three minutes of time. And this week’s blog post can also come from three minutes of time. My intention here is to get back to art, re-discover who I am as an artist now, and enjoy/share the process. And some days, quick and easy is how it looks!
