The Power to Create

We all have the power to take action and create the lives we desire. If you lack a sense of your own power, you’ve given it away to others. In doing so, you seek to hide your pain away by blaming the outside and the other. There is always an excuse for why things are the way they have always been.

You may have grown up with power figures in your life, parental figures in particular, who misuse their creative power to manipulate others into doing what they want. You may have been a pawn in someone else’s illusion of control or comfort. They were playing you instead of playing with you.

If you are misusing your power by giving it away to others, you’ll say “I don’t know…” You don’t know what you value, what you stand for, or what you think or believe. Because you’ve detached from your power to create, you’ll detach from your own thoughts and desires. This leaves you detached from the life that you have been blessed to lead.

The only way to learn what it is that you think and want is to walk away from people who are misusing your power for their own game. When you do this, they will try to make you believe that you’re losing out. This is a lie. It’s a manipulation intended to keep you playing for their desires. The truth is, nobody is winning in this situation, not even the person who is trying to maintain control. You have the power to take your power back. You’re in full control the entire time. The illusion that you’re not is cast by those who wish to play you.

When you’re ready to create something on your own, be wise enough to know that your power has the ability to charm rather than control. When you charm another, you invite them to play and they say yes. This is different from controlling, where there’s no invitation and no opportunity to say no. When you know who you are, you can invite others to play with you and be invited by others. And you can give a hearty yes to their invitation to play because you’ll know that it’s in alignment with what you want.
